At Higher Trail, we offer comprehensive support through clinical case management, safe housing, therapy, and coaching. Our mission is to connect you with the right resources, foster healthy habits, and tailor recovery approaches to your unique journey.I’m a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), International Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICADC), and I hold a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelors in addictions. With my qualifications and years of experience, I provide professional and empathetic guidance.

Clients appreciate his compassionate approach, attentiveness, and ability to communicate complex information effectively. Committed to giving back, he volunteers to provide care to underserved populations, leaving a lasting impact on those in need.

John, hailing from Ocala, Florida, is deeply committed to the recovery field, driven by his own journey and professional dedication. John believes that recovery entails evolving into a healthier and more fulfilled version of oneself, tailored to each individual's unique path. Holding certifications as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS), Recovery Coach Professional (RCP), and in Wellness Recovery Action Plan (W.R.A.P.), his expertise underscores his dedication to aiding others. With an Associate of Arts degree and ongoing educational pursuits in recovery, John's efforts are pivotal in guiding individuals toward a more fulfilled life on their recovery journey.

Hello, I'm Mike, a passionate professional dedicated to supporting individuals and families on their journey to recovery and optimum wellness. With extensive experience and a strong background in psychology, addiction counseling, and intervention, I offer training, coaching, and crisis intervention services. I meet each client where they are, empowering them to make positive changes. Through invitational interventions and personalized approaches, I help clients break ineffective patterns. I believe in comprehensive recovery encompassing mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. With gratitude and dedication, I am committed to empowering you, your loved ones, or your clients towards a fulfilling life of whole wellness.

I am Phillip, a retired United States Navy Hospital Corpsman with 20 years of experience in Healthcare Administration. In 2006, I embarked on a journey of long-term recovery and continue to actively participate in 12-step recovery and Recovery Dharma. My second career was as an Healthcare Technical Implementation Project Manager. I then by owned my own IT business here in Ocala until Covid pandemic forced the business to close. I am happily married to my best friend Carol and am very proud of our three grown children and their spouses, two grandchildren, and a delightful household that includes four spiritual masters (cats), two lap-dogs, and a grumpy but charming 175-pound Vietnamese pot-belly house pig named Pepe.

Shantell is a seasoned Recovery Coach Professional, whose journey through overcoming addiction, alcoholism, and mental health challenges since July 2016 has equipped her with invaluable insight and empathy. Her extensive experience in both coaching and mentoring has been pivotal in the initiation of alumni programs and in forging networks to secure resources for those embarking on their own paths to recovery. Beyond her professional endeavors, Shantell's personal interests - from music and fishing to water-related activities - reflect her deep appreciation for life and connection with others. She treasures the authenticity of her relationships with family and friends, embodying the essence of being true to oneself. With a dedicated heart, Shantell is fiercely committed to walking alongside individuals on their recovery journeys, offering unwavering empathy and support.

Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Briana is an experienced counselor with a rich history in the Behavioral Health industry. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Thomas University, she has dedicated three years to the field of counseling. Briana's expertise shines in consumer-focused service, teamwork, data analysis, helping clients, and case management.
Presently, she applies her skills at the Pace Center for Girls in Ocala, Florida, where she serves as a clinical mental health counselor. Her role involves not only counseling but also contributing to the community through prevention, intervention, training, and advocacy. Briana's strong professional foundation in behavioral healthcare services is underpinned by her specialized education in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University. Her commitment to her field and her deep involvement in community service underscore her dedication to making a significant impact in the lives of those she counsels.
